Alyssa takes a supportive and eclectic approach to therapy, starting with clients' reasons for courageously seeking support. She believes in helping others overcome internal and external barriers to self-fulfillment, and views a balance of accountability and self-compassion as the key to working through life's struggles. She walks alongside clients in identifying psycho-social patterns that have led to the identified stressors, and works with them on their personal goals towards growth and healing. Alyssa brings a variety of clinical experiences to the practice including clinical case management, individual therapy, couples/family therapy, and group therapy, and she has practiced in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Anxiety Disorders (generalized, PTSD, OCD, etc.), Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Disorder, etc.), Thought disorders (Schizoaffective disorder and other stabilized symptoms of psychosis), as well as struggles with life adjustments and interpersonal conflicts. Alyssa works with adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Alyssa's approach is eclectic and client-centered. Offering compassionate and trauma-informed services, Alyssa draws on Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Mindfulness practice approaches. She tries to utilize a combination of talk therapy and experiential/creative therapy techniques (ie: mindful movement, psychodrama, music therapy, art therapy, narrative therapy) to establish a well-rounded approach to the client's treatment goals.
