Chris is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in DC. Chris received his M.A. in Counseling from the Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, FL. The program there emphasized each clinician engaging in their own healing process as way of learning and preparing to walk with others through their own journey. During his program, he conducted therapy in an outpatient clinic and facilitated groups through local community organizations. Therapy has played a significant role is Chris’s own life and he knows it to be a powerful way of finding meaning, re-connecting, and forging lasting change. In the counseling room, Chris values providing space for the unburdening of the heart and mind while offering insight and collaboration to find direction for life’s circumstances and moving forward. He has a passion for engaging in this process with others and seeing them thrive.
Chris works with individuals, couples, and adolescents and operates primarily within an interpersonal and psychodynamic framework. He incorporates mindful and acceptance-based practices as well, with a focus on emotional identification and regulation. Chris also has extensive experience providing support to those in crisis. Chris works with clients of various backgrounds and identities of race, religion, and sexual orientation and specializes in cases of depression, suicidal ideation, various forms of abuse, life adjustments, spiritual and existential questioning, relational issues, and couples counseling.
