Katherine C. (K.C.) Orgeron is pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is currently a pre-doctoral intern at CCCC. She has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology At Argosy University, a Masters in Forensic and Legal Psychology from Marymount University, and a JD from the University of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law.
K.C. uses an integrative approach to therapy and appreciates that each individual who comes to therapy has unique goals. She believes in meeting people where they are and collaboratively creating a space to explore ideas and feelings that are important to each individual. As such, the pace of therapy will move according to each person’s needs.
She believes that everyone goes through challenging times at different points in life. Sometimes providing a safe space to share what things are important in your life is a step in understanding how to handle the difficult times.
K.C. uses an integrative approach to therapy. She has experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and often incorporates CBT concepts into treatment with patients. She also includes other orientations, depending on the person’s needs, like psychodynamic principles. K.C. enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, and first generation immigrants.
K.C. spent one year conducting neuropsychological testing working primarily with individuals who had memory related concerns or concerns stemming from traumatic brain injuries. She spent another year at the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center at the Community Living Center working with rehabilitation and chronically ill patients, and at the Mental Health Clinic, working with individuals with mood disorders. K.C. also has experience conducting forensic psychology related evaluations like competency to stand trial evaluations. Lastly, K.C. speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys working with first generation immigrant adolescents and adults.
K.C. is also fluent in Spanish and has experience in and provides services in this language.
