Miranda "MiMi" Grant is a native Washingtonian and Mom to 2 wonderful children. She is a proud graduate of Ballou High School and The University of the District of Columbia, where she received her Bachelors in Social Work which lead to the University of Maryland at Baltimore MSW. She has had the pleasure of providing both clinical and management services in the DMV for over 20 years. She has worked with a myriad of populations including the disenfranchised, homeless, child welfare and extensive work in community mental health programs. She is also the former President of the MD/DC Chapter of the International Association for Play Therapy. During her tenure she also completed their Leadership in Play Therapy Academy. Her primary treatment populations include children, families and women with history of PTSD, depression, anxiety and trauma survivors.
Miranda uses an encouragement approach to treatment. She believes that the key to personal success is within, and the role of therapy is to provide the supportive space to unlock your desires. She utilizes her vast experience as a professional and trauma survivor to provide a safe space for growth and change. Her preferred treatment modalities include Play therapy, Sandplay Therapy, Art Interventions and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She enjoys utilizing her extensive play therapy experience with adults and families. Miranda is knowledgeable in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, adult ADD, abuse, trauma, and life transitions.
