Samantha Daniel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia, and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington, DC. Samantha holds a Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington (go Seahawks!).
Samantha works with individuals including adults, adolescents and children. Samantha’s therapeutic orientation is psychodynamic which includes aspects of Motivational Interviewing, Love and Logic, Circle of Security, Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution Focused therapies. She is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which can be utilized with children and adults. In her work with children she utilizes Child Parent Psychotherapy to assist caregivers in understanding the meaning of their child’s behavior and offer children the developmentally appropriate space to explore their emotional needs. This approach is often used to address trauma and reoccurring stressors that are affecting the child’s emotional and/or social development.
Although Samantha specializes in early childhood mental health, she is able to incorporate this knowledge and her clinical practice experience into her work with clients of all ages. Our experiences early in life shape how we learn to manage challenges and can often impact our lives well into adulthood. Samantha strives to tailor her approaches to best meet the needs of individual clients and walk alongside them on the journey to attaining their personal goals.
