Alexa Weatherly is a third year doctoral extern in clinical psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in experimental psychology with a minor in women and gender studies and statistics at the University of South Carolina. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults to gain better insight into their psychological functioning through therapy. Alexa believes that therapy can be useful in sharpening skills clients already have, as well as learning new ones along the way.
Alexa utilizes a collaborative, cognitive-behavioral approach with her clients, and has experience working with a variety of psychiatric disorders. Alexa is interested in seeing clients who have anxiety-related disorders, depression, trauma, personality disorders, eating disorders, LGBTQIA concerns, and autism-spectrum disorders. Alexa has experience conducting intellectual and cognitive assessments with children and adults.
Alexa strives to make all her clients feel welcome and supported in her office by honoring and integrating a client's cultural identity into therapy.
