Kéla Ballard is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. Kéla obtained a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Bowie State University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Kéla has experience working with school-age children and adolescents to support them, and their caregivers or families, as they navigate challenges related to ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She has experience teaching social skills, emotional regulation, and mindfulness techniques in individual and group settings. Kéla continues to expand her offerings by supporting youth caregivers and families and young adults as well. In addition, Kéla is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and an 85-hour Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) whose background in yoga teaching and philosophy shapes her clinical work and encourages her to introduce mind-body awareness to her clients from children to adults.
Kéla is focused on holding space for clients to explore their challenges, with non-judgement, patience, and acceptance. Kéla recognizes that there is no “one size fits all” approach to addressing life’s challenges. She utilizes an eclectic approach to include mindfulness, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral frameworks.
