Arianna Cifone, Doctoral Extern

Arianna is a predoctoral extern currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at American University. Arianna received her BA from the University at Albany, State University of New York, in Psychology and Sociology. 


Arianna is trained in psychodynamic, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral approaches for treating both children and adults. She also brings experience in clinical assessment and therapeutic work with diverse populations. Arianna is currently training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Gottman Level 1, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Arianna has a particular interest in working with adults and marginalized populations dealing with various concerns, including questions of identity (e.g., gender identity, sexuality), self-exploration, mood and anxiety disorders, severe mental illness, and personality disorders. 


Arianna’s therapeutic style is collaborative and integrative, drawing on several theoretical models including cognitive-behavioral and person-centered principles. Meeting clients where they currently are in their journeys and building strong client-therapist relationships are core to Arianna’s therapeutic approach. Clients can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where they feel heard, supported, and equipped to build practical tools for personal growth.
