Marjorie Roberson, LICSW

Licensed in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia

I have been a therapist since 2014 and became a therapist because of my own experience of being heard and seen with my own therapists. My approach is to help you create a safe space where you are able to share your thoughts and feelings without feeling judged. I like to work from a parts perspective with the belief that who we are, whether we like it or not, began its formation before we had language, in childhood. I encourage you to open up to feeling your feelings. I learned that my job is not to help you feel better but to help you learn to take care of yourself and your feelings when you are uncomfortable and grow in willingness to be uncomfortable.

Steven Nicholson, LICSW

Licsensed in Washington D.C.

My previous work experience includes inpatient psychiatry, inpatient ER and ICU social work, outpatient medical case management, residential treatment facilities, partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). I have almost a decade in the field of social work. My biggest question isn't the why, but the what. What is causing a client to think, feel, or behave the way they do and how can I help? I use a variety of different approaches and therapy techniques to include psychodynamic, systems theory, dialectical-behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. People aren't inherently flawed, but there may be things they can do to think, feel, and do differently in order to think, feel, and do better.
